TOKYO

TEAC Corporation (hereinafter TEAC) (TOKYO:6803), the world leader in medical imaging, recording and filing solutions, today announced a new high-definition medical imaging recorder to be released in October 2014.
Medical Imaging Recorder UR-4MD is designed to capture, store, and share videos and still images virtually from any medical diagnostic apparatus, such as laparoscopies, endoscopes, arthroscopies, C-Arms, angiographies and surgical cameras. It is designed for quick set up and intuitive operation with advanced fail-safe features that support doctors and nurses in the mission critical OR environment.

The UR-4MD is TEAC’s new high definition medical imaging recorder specially designed as a “Doctor Friendly” device based on a quick set-up and easy to use concept, yet includes a robust list of features and capabilities. With auto sensing video connections and automatic video resolution detection, set-up is quick and easy, as it automatically configures itself to be ready for recording. Also, the front control panel allows users to intuitively record and play-back videos and photos in crystal clear HD, with little to no training required. UR4MD’s GUI supports 9 languages such as English, French, German, Italy, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
In addition, a built-in hard drive is included for high capacity recording (up to 100 hours of HD quality videos) and redundant data back-up for fail-safe recording and disaster recovery capability. Users can simultaneously record to multiple media (a built-in hard drive, two USB devices and a Network server), share and playback instantly on other devices and locations. This adds convenience and improves workflow.
UR-4MD is network capable and can transfer the captured videos and images to servers within the hospital network. In case of power interruption during recording, UR-4MD safely shuts itself down without loss of data, and *S.M.A.R.T. monitors and reports the built in hard drive’s condition.
It has never been so easy and reliable to capture Medical Imaging with TEAC’s UR-4MD.

Keith Yoshida, Senior Executive Officer of TEAC Corporation said,
“TEAC is proud to bring this new Medical Imaging Recorder UR-4MD. This sophisticated, state-of-the-art medical imaging recorder is designed with TEAC’s core technologies for video recording and vast experience of Medical video recorders. Our technologies will allow UR-4MD to provide reliable recording to video systems at medical sites and this small footprint recorder will bring real “ease-of-use” solutions to doctors with little to no training required.”
