IRVINE, Calif.

Quality Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSII) announced today that it has won four gold Stevie® awards as well as 14 silver and eight bronze awards in the 2012 9th Annual International Business AwardsSM.

In addition, Quality Systems was named Organization of the Year in the 2012 International Business Awards program. Quality Systems received this title based on its earning more points than any other entrant. Points were scored based on total gold, silver and bronze wins.

The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2012 International Business Awards drew entries from more than 50 nations and territories, totaling more than 3,200 nominations from organizations of all sizes and across virtually every industry.

The gold wins were earned in the following categories:

  • Best New Product or Service of the Year, Business-to-Business Products – Quality Systems/NextGen NextPen™
  • Marketing Campaign of the Year, Computer Software – Quality Systems’ NextGen’s Clever Wordisms
  • Marketing Campaign of the Year – Computer Services – Quality Systems’ NextGen’s Clever Wordisms
  • IT Executive of the Year – Quality Systems President and CEO Steven T. Plochocki

The awards were presented to winners at a gala awards banquet held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Seoul, South Korea on 15 October, 2012.

“Quality Systems continues to be recognized for our efforts spanning the entire organization. We are proud to have been acknowledged across many categories, thereby naming us Organization of the Year. Furthermore, the accolades earned by the company’s marketing team for our innovative healthcare IT solutions, tools and marketing campaigns is highly impressive. While we are proud of our talented team worldwide, we especially applaud the efforts of our marketing professionals for their creative, thoughtful campaigns and the clever marketing of our solutions,” explained Plochocki.

Kelli Castellano, vice president of marketing, said: “During 2012, we paid close attention to creating campaigns that would allow us to stand out in what many perceive as a crowded marketplace in the fast-growing, vibrant healthcare information technology (HCIT) sector. We took a fresh look at business of HCIT and decided to build campaigns centered around our own client success stories, as evidenced by our wordisms campaigns for which we earned several Stevies.”

Kathleen Kervin, senior vice president, marketing and product management, added: “In addition to our novel marketing campaigns, the company’s ancillary products were also honored. NextPen, a new approach to enhancing productivity at medical practices, has been widely embraced by our clients and adoption is vastly increasing. NextPen is just one of the innovations we recently introduced that is gaining traction across our client base. We thank the IBA judges, the HCIT community and our clients for recognizing our quest to distinguish both our organization and our solutions.”

“Quality Systems performance in this year’s International Business Awards program was unparalleled, hence the company being named Organization of the Year in our first-ever ranking of entities scoring the most points in the competition. The company clearly demonstrated its abilities across a wide range of categories as evidenced by the 26 Stevies it earned in the 2012 International Business awards program. Kudos to the company and its entire team of professionals,” stated Michael Gallagher, president of The Stevie Awards.

SAFE HARBOR PROVISIONS FOR FORWARD-LOOKING STATEMENTS

This news release may contain forward-looking statements within the meaning of the federal securities laws, including but not limited to, statements regarding future events, developments, the Company’s future performance, as well as management’s expectations, beliefs, intentions, plans, estimates or projections relating to the future (including, without limitation, statements concerning revenue, net income and earnings per share). Risks and uncertainties exist that may cause the results to differ materially from those set forth in these forward-looking statements. Factors that could cause the anticipated results to differ from those described in the forward-looking statements are set forth in Part I, Item A of our most recent Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2011, including but not limited to: the volume and timing of systems sales and installations; length of sales cycles and the installation process; the possibility that products will not achieve or sustain market acceptance; seasonal patterns of sales and customer buying behavior; impact of incentive payments under The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act on sales and the ability of the Company to meet continued certification requirements; the development by competitors of new or superior technologies; the timing, cost and success or failure of new product and service introductions, development and product upgrade releases; undetected errors or bugs in software; product liability; changing economic, political or regulatory influences in the health-care industry; changes in product-pricing policies; availability of third-party products and components; competitive pressures including product offerings, pricing and promotional activities; the Company’s ability or inability to attract and retain qualified personnel; possible regulation of the Company’s software by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration; changes of accounting estimates and assumptions used to prepare the prior periods’ financial statements; and general economic conditions. A significant portion of the Company’s quarterly sales of software product licenses and computer hardware is concluded in the last month of a fiscal quarter, generally with a concentration of such revenues earned in the final ten business days of that month. Due to these and other factors, the Company’s revenues and operating results are very difficult to forecast. A major portion of the Company’s costs and expenses, such as personnel and facilities, are of a fixed nature and, accordingly, a shortfall or decline in quarterly and/or annual revenues typically results in lower profitability or losses. As a result, comparison of the Company’s period-to-period financial performance is not necessarily meaningful and should not be relied upon as an indicator of future performance. The Company undertakes no obligation to publicly update any forward-looking statements, whether as a result of new information, future events or otherwise.
